The Official Google Blog has recently reported that it will start to roll out Google Suggest as the default option for all search performed in Google. Search suggest will let the searcher formulate queries with more ease, reduce spelling errors, and at the same time save keystrokes. An example screenshot is presented below:
Well, it was bound to happen as Google’s only valid competitor – Yahoo had received plenty of success after launching their Search Assist back in Octobar 2007. Even though Google had this technology for years, I’m not sure why they are playing “catch up”?
As far as SEO is concerned, I believe this will affect some of the the long tail phrase searches and those who looked to capitalize on misspelled search queries.
